A new stamp issued the stamp collector buy the stamp and then used in the envelope .and then postcard is posted on very first day having the stamp and date of the sell is called first day cover. The first day cover is never opened being knowing by that it has only blank sheet .but in the chapter their was an old first day cover according to author assumption in the story
