Ranga was the first person in village who had gone to Bangalore to study in English. That was why Ranga’s homecoming was a great event. People rushed to his doorstp and wanted to see the boy who had gone to the city for studies. Everyone was surprised to see that Ranga was the same as he had been six months ago, when he had first left their village. He had not lost his caste.
