Oxidation state of flurine is -1 but in case of HOF molecule oxidation state of flurine is +1 because algebric sum of oxidation no. of all atoms in a compound is zero. Since ox-state of H atom is +1 & of oxygen is -2. Since ox-state of HOF molecule is zero. Then +1+ (-2) +F ~0 F~ +1 (this sign ~ indicate equal to)
