A) 1st wave : colonial labour were sent to work on plantation areas under the time bound contacts known as girmit act (Indian immigration act). B) 2nd wave : venture out into the neighbouring countries in search of economic opportunities is steady outflow of India's skilled and semi skilled workers. C) 3rd wave : comprises of the skilled professionals like doctors, Engineers, financial experts, media persons to developed countries such as USA, UK, Australia, ect and causes brain drain.

  • It comprises professionals like doctors, engineers, software engineers, management consultants, financial experts, media persons to countries such as USA, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
  • These professionals enjoy the distinction of being highly educated, the highest earning and prospering groups.
