You can start the Open Office writer by using the command soffice – writer or swriter.
There are other related components and we can start those office programs using the following command.
Text ->-writer
Spreadsheet ->calc
Drawing->draw
Presentation->impress
Formula->math
Web page ->web.
There are various other options also, -help for getting a complete list of options, “-nologo” to avoid showing the startup screen, “ –minimized” to start the open office application in the minimized stage, etc.
