A histogram is a chart that shows frequencies for. intervals of values of a metric variable. Such intervals as known as “bins” and they all have the same widths. The primary use of a Histogram Chart is to display the distribution (or “shape”) of the values in a data series. For example, we might know that normal human oral body temperature is approx 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

To make a histogram, follow these steps:

  1. On the vertical axis, place frequencies. Label this axis "Frequency".
  2. On the horizontal axis, place the lower value of each interval.
  3. Draw a bar extending from the lower value of each interval to the lower value of the next interval.
