An exterior angle is an angle which is formed by one of the sides of any closed shape structure such as polygon and the extension of its adjacent side. Exterior angles of a polygon are formed when by one of its sides and extending the other side. The sum of all the exterior angles in a polygon is equal to 360 degrees.
Each exterior angle of an equilateral triangle is 120 degrees and hence this the maximum possible value of the exterior angle of a regular polygon. This can also be proved by another principle; which states that each exterior angle of a regular polygon is equal to 360 divided by the number of sides in the polygon. If 360 is divided by 3, we get 120. So 120 degrees the highest exterior angle for a regular polygon.
