Feedback can be both positive and negative depending on the understanding of the message. Feedback is of 2 types: 1. Oral Feedback Such kind of feedback is given when the task is being performed. Oral feedback is an informal type of feedback. This kind of feedback happens during teaching. It is the natural part of verbal communication. The verbal interaction takes place between students and teacher in the classroom. 2. Written Feedback After the completion of a specific task, written feedback is provided. Such kind of feedback is provided by the teacher. The teacher evaluates the student's worksheet and feedback is given based on the performance, also called evaluation feedback.

There are four types of constructive feedback:

Negative feedback – corrective comments about past behaviour. Focuses on behaviour that wasn’t successful and shouldn’t be repeated.
Positive feedback – affirming comments about past behaviour. Focuses on behaviour that was successful and should be continued.
Negative feed-forward – corrective comments about future performance. Focuses on behaviour that should be avoided in the future.
Positive feed-forward – affirming comments about future behaviour. Focused on behaviour that will improve performance in the future.
