The figure of speech of the poem is that the whole poem revolves around a piece of cardboard {photograph} in stanza one the mother describes and her joy and amazing moment happened with her and in stanza two both mother and daughter {poet} enjoys the happiness of that beach and in last stanza the daughter only describes the same cardboard and feel very sad for her mother and can't stop crying.?
