Cu do not react with dilute sulphuric acid as it comes behind hydrogen in the reactivity series. But with concentrated H2SO4 it reacts to form CuSO4 and SO2 is evolved. Cu + 2H2SO4 (conc) → CuSO4 + SO2 + 2H2O
