The end of 2nd world war not only crippled the European nations like Germany , Italy and Austria. But also weakened victorious nations like Britain and France . They had to face acute shortage of basic necessities of life. The end of war saw two powers ( USA nd USSR) emerging as world powers. Both have different ideologies. USA was supporter of capitistic order and promotes democracy while USSR advocates socialist order. The intense rivalry,clash of ambitious , apposing ideologies and acute difference gave rise to what was called 'cold war' . It was rather "a state of uneasy peace" . Both side tries to impose their political and economic system allover the world. The USA and USSR weren't in state of armed conflicts with each other. It was an era of political or diplomatic conflict. The two great made all possible efforts to weaken the opposite side.
