Put x = -2 /3 and y = 1/4
( x+ y ) ÷ ( x- y )

= (-2/3 + 1/4) ÷ (-2/3 - 1/4)
= (-8+3)/12 ÷ (--8-3)/12

= -5/12  ÷ -11/12
= -5/12 × 12/-11
= 5/11
