Endoplasmic reticulum is a organelle of a cell that helps to connect cytoplasm with nucleus..which is necessary to transfer thing ( basically mineral ,food , oxygen etc) This is a easy to learn definition .. functions not included along with external information

Endoplasmic reticulum A network of tubes for transportation of substances It is called rough because of presence of ribosomes on surface of tubes and it look rough Ribosomes are manufacturer of protein and er are known for manufacturation of protein Refer to ncert book for more information
