8x-2=-9+7x Send 7x to the left hand side (LHS) we get the equation: 8x-2-7x=-9 Now send -2 to the right hand side (RHS) we get equation: 8x-7x=-9+2 So, 1x=-7 Therefore, x=-7/1 =-7
