Ustaad Bismillah Khan was a perfect example of India's cultural heritage as he could never even think of leaving Dumrao(Benaras) and also the river Ganga. Not only this he was the one who brought Shehnai ( an indispensable component of our tradition) to a classic level or stage. He invented and improvised new raagas. He was the first person to greet India with a melodious sound of Shehnai on our Independence day thereafter Nehru hi gave his famous' tryst to destiny speech'. Once when his student came to be the head of the institution of Shehnai in usa, he refused just because they couldn't transport river Ganga to the us colony.
