 3x – 4(2x – 5) = 2(x - 1) +5/2

3x – 8x + 20 = 2x – 2 + 5/2

  – 5x + 20 = 2x – 2 + 5/2

  – 5x – 2x  = – 20 – 2 + 5/2

  – 7x  = –22 + 5/2

  –7x  = (– 44  + 5)/2
  –7x  = (– 39)/2

x = 39/14
