  • The Jupiter Effect is a book by John Gribbin and Stephen Plagemann.
  • The author in this book predicted that an alignment of planets in solar system would create a number of violent calamities including a great earthquake.
  • The above book became the best seller.
  • A certain section of people were waiting for a series of global disasters like tidal waves, violent storms, earthquakes etc which they believed would be caused by an alignment of all the nine planets.
  • The alignment was real but their was no announcement/ fear of a natural calamity coming from the World Government/NASA.

The Jupiter Effect is a 1974 book by John Gribbin and Stephen Plagemann, in which the authors predicted that an alignment of the planets of the Solar System would create a number of catastrophes, including a great earthquake on the San Andreas Fault, on March 10, 1982. The book became a best-seller. The predicted catastrophes did not occur.
