Simultaneous equations: ab = 1575, and a/b = 9/7 So a = 1575/b, and we substitute that into the second expression and solve for b (1575/b) / b = (1575/b) 1/b = 1575/b^2 = 9/7 b^2 = 7/9(1575) = 1225 b = 35 Now substitute the value of b, 35 into the first equation 35a = 1575 a = 1575/35 = 45
