Without plant life, there would be no photosynthesis. Photosynthesis stores solar energy in a form plants can use. More importantly, a primary byproduct of photosynthesis is gaseous oxygen.
All animals eat either plants or other animals in order to obtain energy, and the only way they can metabolize this energy is through a chemical reaction with oxygen (which plants have created through photosynthesis).
Without plants, the world would be devoid of life. Human existence would be impossible without them.
