1. It means the actual piece of land on which the settlement is built. 1. Situation or position of settlements means the location of the village or town in relation to surrounding areas.
2. Site for settlement may led a hill top, river bank or a coast of sea. 2. Site for settlement may led a hill top, river bank or a coast of sea.
3. Appropriate site for a settlement is generally determined its access to water and other amenities for sustenance. 3. The form of settlement in any particular region reflects human perception of natural environment.
