Let the 1st part be x
2nd part be 40-x
A/Q. (3/4)x=(3/8)×(40-x)
=>(3/4)x =(120-3x)/8
=>24x =480-12x
=>24x+12x =480
=>36x =480
=>x =480/36
=>x =13.33
Therefore 1st part =13.33
2nd part =40-13.33=26.67
