Let's take smaller angle=x So, the larger angle will be =x+12 The sum of complementary angles=90° So, x+x+12°=90° 2x+12°=90° [Transpose 12 to RHS] 2x=90°-12° 2x=78° (Transpose 2 to RHS ) x=78°/2 x=39° So, the smaller angle is 39° and the larger angle is 39°+12°=51°.

Let one angle be x
its complement = (90-x)
according to question
x-(90-x) = 12
x-90+x = 12
2x = 12+90=> 102
x =102/2 = 51°
therefore its complement = (90-x) = 90-51 = 39°
