Saheb is the kid who used to work as rag picker in the story of The Rag picker which reflected on and talked of the lives of the rag-pickers, their hopes, constant struggle and un-fulfilled dreams.
Saheb after started working at the tea stall and stopped picking rags lost his lively spirit and free- attitude towards life. He became mundane and lost his happy tone for life and interest towards work.
Saheb was not at all happy with his new-work. He lost his care-free attitude and was no longer his own master and was not working independently or freely for himself. The work became a burden for him rather and he was forced to work on someone else’s instructions and tunes and the steel canister was heavier than the plastic bag he used to carry as rag-picker.
