The branch of horticulture that deals with the study of fruits and practice of their cultivation is called pomology.
Pomology refers to the science of fruit growing. It is the branch of botany that studies and cultivates fruit. Pomological research is mainly focussed on the development, cultivation and physiological studies of fruit trees.
Studies include enhancement of fruit quality, regulation of production periods, and reduction and production cost.
