let two numbers are x and y

As per given condition

x - y = 10...... (I)

And the second condition

x: y = 2: 3

x/y = 2/3

x = 2/3 y

Put value of x in (I)

2/3 y - y = 10

(2/3 - 1) y = 10

-1/3 y = 10

y = -30

Put it in (I)

x - (-30) = 10

x + 30 = 10

x = 10 - 30

x= -20
