'Lost spring' this title is very appropriate according to the chapter. Saheb was living a poverty stricken life . He have to do work for earning his livelihood. He couldn't enjoy his beautiful and joyfull part if his life i.e., childhood. Mukesh was also a child who have to do work in glass blowing industry. Bearucrates forced his family to continue with that work. They couldn't find the job according to their interests. In both cases, the children have to do something which the dont want .In order to live their lives they have to do a job since their childhood. So, they aren't able to enjoy their beautiful part of life . So title suggests 'the lost spring'. Hope you find it helpful✌️✌️

The title of the chapter 'Lost Spring' is a metaphor used for loss of childhood of millions of child-laborers in India. Spring is symbolic of joy, happiness, beauty, and hope. Childhood can be called the spring of a man's life. However, children like Saheb-e-alam and Mukesh have no spring in their life because of the poverty they have been born into. Since they don't enjoy the privileges of childhood that the children of affluent families enjoy, the poet considers these children whose spring (childhood) has been lost. Hence, the title 'Lost Spring' is justified.
