Lion-tailed Macaques may be found at elevations of about 1500 metres in evergreen and semi ever green monsoon forests with broadleaf trees. Endemic to India, they are found in the Western Ghats in the South-West. A species that's endemic to western ghats of India, spread across tamilnadu, kerala and karnataka. Total population in the wild is estimated around 3000+ . LTMs are one of the smallest Macaques and live in groups of 20–30.
