IT is considered to be a subset of information and communications technology (ICT). There are four primary elements for information technology as a whole: information security, database and network management, computer technical support, and business software development. Information technology (IT) is the use of any computers, storage, networking and other physical devices, infrastructure and processes to create, process, store, secure and exchange all forms of electronic data.  The commercial use of IT encompasses both computer technology and telephony.
