Beacause ice has lot of tiny pores and these pores are too larger that they all air to oass thhhhrough it as we know densiy is mass per unit volume of the wall of the container so if voluke increases density decareases due to its pores ice have hiher volume and lesser density

Because ice ❄ has an open structure. Hence, it has more intermolecular space than water so, it floats on the surface of water ?.
