(a). If a de-shelled egg is kept in pure water then nothing will happen. It is called an Isotonic solution. (b). If a de-shelled egg is kept in salt solution then the egg will shrink. It is called as an Hypertonic solution. (1). Nothing will happen to the size of the de-shelled in an Isotonic solution , but, in an hypertonic solution the de-shelled egg will shrink. (2). Reason: When this semipermeable egg is placed in a saline solution (hypertonic solution), exosmosis occurs and the egg shrinks due to loss of water to the surrounding environment. If the water concentration inside is higher than the surrounding environment, the medium is said to be hypertonic solution. (3). The process behind this is Osmosis. --------If you want to ask any question please write one-by-one, it takes time to answer.--------
