Usually when scientists talk about the sky, we are thinking of Earth's atmosphere: the layer of gases that surround the planet. It seems strange, but the atmosphere, or sky, doesn't actually "end". Instead, the higher up you go, the thinner – and less oxygenated – Our atmosphere (Sky) doesn't end in one spot: it thins out the higher you get, until there is almost no air left at all. For simplicity, scientists say that the atmosphere ends at the Kármán line, 100 km (62 miles) above sea level
