Deuterium is a hydrogen isotope consisting of one proton, one neutron and one electron. Tritium is a hydrogen isotope consisting of one proton, two neutrons and one electron. It is radioactive, with a half-life of 12.32 years. The main difference between protium, deuterium, and tritium is that protium has no neutrons in its nuclei, whereas deuterium is composed of one neutron and tritium is composed of two neutrons. Protium is an isotope of hydrogen that is composed of one proton and one electron.
