chasmogamous (expose their anther and stigma) cleistogamous(do not expose its reproductive parts hence they are close)

Chasmogamous flowers are borne on stem ....they show anthesis which means that they open or rather floers with exposed stamen and pistil....whereas cleistogamous flowers are those whose stamen and pistil are not exposed these flowers do not exhibit anthesis and are mainly underground .it ensures seed set eg viola, oxalis
