In living beings the osmosis has the following importance:
1. The osmosis aids in transportation of the nutrients from cell to cell and wastes are removed from the cells.
2. The osmosis prevents the cell from bursting it creates the turgor pressure inside the cell.
3. Through the process of osmosis the roots absorb the moisture and nutrients from the soil.
4. It keeps the toxic waste separated from the blood stream.
5. The process of blood purification in kidneys is also dependent upon osmosis.
