All gases at the same temperature have the same kinetic energy. This means that lighter gases move faster than heavy gases at the same temperature. In formula sense, kinetic energy of a gas is given by: Since they are equal KE, and the heavier gas has more mass, the velocity of the heavier gas must be lower.
