Matter - any thing which has mass and occupies space is known as matter Matter can exist in three physical states 1- solid state 2- liquid state 3- gases Matter exhibits the following characteristics SOLID = Solid have definite shape and definite volume. LIQUID = liquid have definite volume but not the definite shape GAS. = gases have neither definite volume nor definite shape
