since hot food has high temperature than cold food and at higher temperature diffusion rate of particles is very fast so due to this the smell of hot food reaches us faster

because kinetic energy of hot food is high as compared to the cold food that's why rate of diffusion is faster in hot food. So that smell of hot food comes far.
