According to the first rule : 2n^2 is the formula to find the max. No. of electrons So, 2*4^2=32 where n=the no. Of shell like (1,2,3......) Hence the max.electrons could be 32. Now according to octet rule it can carry only 8 as its max. No. Of electrons.
