there are simile, metaphor, irony and symbolism in the syllabus. ➡ simile = this is done by using word such as 'like' and 'as '. ➡ metaphor = in this things, idea or action is referred to by a word or phrase denoting some other ideas pr action but use to highlight common factor between them. ➡️ irony = in this what is actually said is the opposite of what is intended. ➡ symbolism = the practice of using a set of related symbols to represent object or ideas, by giving them an associated or symbolic character and meaning.
