Semen is fluid made up of different fluids released from accesory glands like prostrate gland ,seminal vesicles ,bulbourethral gland....these fluids are essential for sperm motility,protection etc...For eg..fluid releases from seminal vesicle makes urinal tract of male alkaline which is otherwise acidic and harms sperm....semen also provides energy to sperm for its motility......ova in female does not require all these conditions like this much motility..
