    Given that a is in direct variation with b.

    a ∝ b

    a = kb

    For a = 20, b = 2.5.

    20 = k × 2.5

    k = 20 / 2.5

    k = 8

    When b = 4,

    a = k × b

    a = 8 × 4

    a = 32

    Hence , a is 32 when b is 4.
