The disease which are spread by the infected microorganisms is known as infectious disease. Such as bacteria, fungi etc. Infected disease are spread by two types _ 1. Direct contact 2. Indirect contact Direct contact Person to person _ infected disease commonly spread through direct contact. Ex: Touch, kiss , hugs Animals to person _ Humans begin bittering by the infected animals Ex _ dog , monkey Mother to unborn child _ A pregnant woman may pass germs in the baby that cause infected disease to her unborn body. Ex_ to feed baby milk Indirect contact Disease causing organisms also can be passed by indirect contact. Ex- insect bites Mosquitoes can carry the malaria parasite or west Nile virus

Infectious Diseases: The diseases which spread due to infection by micro-organisms are called infectious diseases.

When a disease causing organism enters our body it causes infection, it multiplies and grows in the body called host and micro-organisms multiplies in the host body.

For Example: Tuberculosis, tetanus, Common cold, AIDS, etc.
