Algal blooms likely result from a combination of environmental factors including available nutrients, temperature, sunlight, ecosystem disturbance. This result in excess of nutrients (phosphorus and nitrogen) into water and higher concentrations of these nutrients in water cause increased growth of algae and green plants. This ultimately lead to death of aquatic plants and animals.
