Veins:- (1)Veins have thin walled elastic walls with large lumen. (2)Veins carry blood back to the heart from the different parts if body. (3)They are placed close to skin. (4)The blood does not moves with pressure so to prevent the backward flow of blood,they have valves. (5)All veins carry deoxygenated blood except pulmonary vein which carry oxygenated blood back to the heart.

Arteries:- (1)Arteries have thick elastic walls with less lumen(cavity). (2)They carry blood away from the heart to different parts of the body. (3)They are deeply placed under the skin. (4)The blood moves with pressure inside them so they dont have valves in them. (5)All arteries carry oxygenated blood except pulmonary artery which carry deoxygenated to the lungs for purification.
