Answer to your Q- Hard hegemony means which is hard and dominating. For example in our chapter US hegemony there are three examples Ayesha, Jabu, Andrei. Ayesha lost her leg in an attack which was done by the US army in Iraq during the era of Operation dessert storm which was led by the captain Robin Scherzkopf. She also mentions that still US army is in there country. After the cold war US president George W.Bush ordered the military to attack Iraq. The prime reason is that Iraq was found to be guilty for invading Kuwait as well they also suspects that Iraq is creating WMD (weapons for mass destruction). And with those suspects they attacked Iraqi oil fields and also Iraq. But before occupying Iraq the supreme organization United Nations asked America not to attack Iraq but they ignored. Also some of the leaders, people claims that there is no evidence of creating WMD. This is called hard hegemony. Also you can take the example of Hiroshima and Nagasaki they dropped two atomic bombs in Japan.
