No ,the value of acceleration due to gravity is more on poles and less on equator.... We took approx value 9.8m/s2 this difference due to radius of earth radius of earth is less as compare to equator as we know that g=Gme/d where G is gravitational constant and me is mass of earth and d is distance between the center of earth to the object d is less on pole hence g is more and d is more on equator hence g is less... Hole answer will help you....

No. Gravity varies inversely to square of distance. Since radius of earth is less at poles as compared to equator, acceleration due to gravity is stronger there.
