All the liquids exert pressure on the base and the walls of their containers. The pressure exerted by a liquid increases with increasing depth inside the liquid.
If we take a transparent glass tube or a plastic pipe of length about 15 cm and its diameter should be 5-7.5 cm. Also take a rubber balloon and stretch it tightly over one end of the pipe. Hold the pipe at the middle, keeping it in vertical position, pour some into it. We find that the rubber balloon stretches and bulges out which demonstrates that the water poured in the pipe exerts a pressure on the bottom of its container. Now, if we pour some more water in the plastic pipe that its water column increases, the bulge of the rubber balloon also increases, showing that the pressure of water on the bottom of its container has increased.
