Free fall is the term used when we do not appy any external force to any body to fall on the earth. Eg. Dropping a stone from a roof . Gravity is said when we apply some external force to any body to make it fall on earth and the object is attracted by earth due to gravity . Eg. Throwing a stone from ground to a certain height and then coming of the stone back to the earth due to gravity
