पाकिस्तान के लोगों के लिए मोहम्मद अली जिन्ना का वही महत्व है जो भारतीयों के लिए महात्मा गांधी और जवाहर लाल नेहरू का या अमरीकियों के लिए जार्ज वाशिंगटन का है। पाकिस्तान में जिन्ना को 'कायदे आजम' कहा जाता है यानि 'महान नेता'। पाकिस्तान के निर्माण में प्रमुख भूमिका निभाने वाले जिन्ना पेशे से वकील थे और उनकी पढ़ाई लंदन में हुई थी। पाकिस्तान के कायदा-ए-आज़म मुहम्मद अली जिन्ना एक बार फिर प्रासंगिक हो गए हैं। भले ही उनके अपने देश पाकिस्तान में उनको भूलाया जा रहा हो लेकिन भारत में उनकी वजह से विवाद खड़े होना जारी है।
