1. The Soviet system bacame very bureaucratic and authoritarian making life difficult for it's people. 2. Lack of democracy there was absence of freedom of speech. 3. One party system was prevailing there at that time. 4. Authorities were unaccountable to people. 5. On papers USSR was a state that treated all it's people equally but in reality Russia dominated everything and people from other regions felt neglected. 6. It lagged behing the west in technology and infrastructure. 7. There was a shortage of all consumer good. 8. Food import rised each year resulting in large outflow of money. Thus making it's economy stagnant.
